4-star coastal farm retreat with llamas, chickens, and breakfast at the door
The Farm Experience
SCP Mendocino Inn And Farm operates a working farm with llamas and chickens that guests can visit and interact with on the 15-acre property. Chicken feed is provided in reusable bags, and guests can collect lavender from the garden to take home. The inn is a historic property, and its accommodations are spread across several buildings, including the main Lodge and the Farmhouse.
Dining
The on-site restaurant, Terra, serves dinner with a focus on Neapolitan-style pizza and dishes made from local ingredients. A complimentary breakfast is delivered to each room in a wire basket every morning, with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available upon request. Guests can enjoy a daily wine and cheese hour included with their stay, and the lobby offers fresh chocolate chip cookies and 24-hour access to tea and coffee.
Accommodations
Rooms are housed in the Lodge, the Farmhouse, and several cottages, with each room featuring its own decor and layout. Many rooms include wood-burning fireplaces, and select rooms offer private balconies or ocean views. All rooms come with private bathrooms, and some suites include kitchenettes with refrigerators and microwaves.
Wellness and Recreation
The property includes a spa and wellness center offering massage services, spa packages, and yoga classes. Three hiking trails start directly from the property: one leads down to Van Damme Beach, another into Van Damme State Park, and a third along the coastal bluffs. The inn also provides a fitness center, a sauna, and complimentary access to evening entertainment.
Location and Amenities
The inn is a 5-minute walk from Van Damme Beach and a 5-minute drive from downtown Mendocino. Fort Bragg, with the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, is 25 minutes away by car. The property offers free on-site parking with designated spots for each room, electric vehicle charging stations, and is pet-friendly with pet bowls and baskets provided.
